Having a son with dyslexia motivated Raylene Barnhill to explore solutions for academic challenges. Her discovery of the Davis approach to learning difficulties explained problems she was experiencing with her own son. She appreciated the fact that the Davis explanation addressed the root cause of the problem. The book, “The Gift of Dyslexia”, clearly explained why he was not able to learn to read like her other children and how he could learn with methods geared to his unique learning style.
Raylene decided to become a licensed Davis Facilitator after her son completed a one week Davis program with a Davis Facilitator.
The Davis methods allowed her son to discover his unique learning style and gave him an approach to use to enable him to learn independently. One year after his program, Michael was successful in the classroom and no longer required a Specialized Education Plan (SEP). He moved from a failing grade in language arts to an A within a year. His increased self-esteem and confidence in learning was the greatest benefit of all.
Aware that there are many people who struggle in the same way, Raylene was eager to provide options for those in similar situations. She completed the intensive Davis training one year later.
Raylene is happy to bring this effective program for dyslexia to Fredericton. Feel free to call her if you have any questions.
